Being 5 days out from the meeting, there are still a few things that need to be cleared up.
1. Current Teams Situation -
Luna Wolves dropped out, HHoD declined the invite, and Midnight Sons have decided they will not be playing. We are currently sitting at 14 teams with MS, and we have a 15th team giving us an answer in the next two days. We would like to fill the tournament out, but have run out of teams we have contact with to ask. If anyone has recommendations or potential candidates, please feel free to leave a note in this thread or get in touch with me.
Teams list -
228th
ACES
Blackstar Alliance
Blackstone Knights
Blazing Aces
Clan Diamond Shark
Clan Jade Falcon
Comstar Irregulars/QQ Ragequit
cReddit
QQ Ragequit Omega
Steel Jaguar
Sword of Kentares
The Remnant
2. Rules for backup players and forfeiting-
Each week, a team will be assigned to your match from which both you and your opponent can take backup players. If at all possible, the backup team should not have their match on a night when their assigned match is being played. Assignments will rotate on a weekly basis. No more than 2 backup players may EVER be used by a single team in any given match.
This new rule will be discussed in more detail at the meeting. This rule is being implemented because we don't want the tournament to run into the MCW and RHoD seasons for more than 2 to 4 teams. In order to keep that kind of timetable, matches MUST be played in the allotted week period for each round. Once a match is scheduled, it must be played. If your team is unable to play at the scheduled time you agreed to, you will forfeit the match.
Additional forfeit rules -
If a team goes past the 15 minute window between matches and their 10 minute burner period, that team automatically forfeits that particular game. If they go over the 15 minute period for a second time, the entire match is forfeited. This rule will be enforced, as matches must be played out!
Though a mulligan may be used in the case of an accidental overweight drop, doing so twice in the same match will result in a forfeit. Once again, due to time constraints, we simply can't afford the time to constantly redrop matches due to easily avoided mistakes.
Gentleman's agreements
Almost any rule can be bent if both teams agree on a particular course of action. For example, if a team chooses to play assault for a particular match, but find they are having trouble syncing halfway through the series, the teams can agree to switch to conquest mode. Best judgment should be used in ensuring these matches get played in a fair and timely manner. (A lot of teams are comprised mostly of Eastern timezone players!)
Looking very much forward to the tournament everyone
